Gene Baker

Board Member

I was born and raised with my four siblings in Kimball, Nebraska. After graduating from high school, I was living in Utah when my life forever changed. On Thursday, April 4, 1985, at the age of 21, I bowed my head and heart to the lordship of Jesus Christ, and was born again. Changes in my life’s purpose led to God’s call to His service. By this time, I was married, and we moved to Missouri to attend Grace and Glory Bible College and prepare for ministry.

Upon graduation from Bible College in 1991, the Lord brought me to Bethesda Christian Fellowship in Marshfield. I was ordained as their pastor in 2001, and have been there ever since. I also work full-time as a Quality Control Supervisor at Rose Metal Products in Springfield, MO.

I have always been pro-life. My involvement with the pro-life community began with helping to distribute voter’s guides for the Missouri Right to Life organization. I also participated with local life chains in support of the unborn. When Choices Pregnancy Center opened, my wife and I were excited to come alongside and help in any way we could. I am thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve in this ministry. I have been serving on the Board of Directors since 2014.

Shelly and I married in 1986; we have six children and eight grandchildren, all of whom are God’s blessing on our lives.
